Milwaukee Public Museum

Went to the museum for the Titanic Exhibit...they didn't allow any photos inside...oh darn! I did get plenty of photos of the artifacts inside though...it was great...my first time there...and the Titanic artifacts were the best...hard to believe that they could actually bring up dishes that don't even have a crack in them. Jamie and I had a great day just spending some time together.

Alana's First Soccer Game

Today was Alana's first soccer game...she's only 5 years old so we didn't expect much, but wow what fun...those kids run and really try so hard...she seems like more the cheerleader type as she waved (instead of kicking the ball) and skipped her way across the soccer field instead of running...it was a blast to watch. We drove down to Illinois with Jamie and his mom and then we all had dinner at California Pizza Kitchen. It really was a great day.

Surprise at Work Today

Surprise to me...last night I mentioned to Jamie that while I was in Texas visiting Holly I really liked her cell phone...LG Shine...only red would be my choice of color...today at work Jamie surprised me by bringing me a new cell phone...an LG Shine (of course Red). I was so surprised and happy...What is it early Christmas?

Happy Easter

It was a wonderful Easter in Wisconsin...the weather was about 55 degrees all day, still a little breezy so the chill is still there, but so nice to be outside for Easter egg hunting. Jamie had to work today so I went over to his mom and dad's house and waiting for his sister Bridgette, her husband Tim and their daughter (my Goddaughter) Alana to drive up from Illinois. They got there around 2pm and Alana didn't even make it into the house before she was finding eggs in the yard and gathering them up...she came inside to get her Easter bucket and headed back outside to gather up the eggs...all dressed up in her Easter dress and sandles with heels of course, she gathered them up, stopping to count them to see if she got all 16 of them...then back inside to hunt for the Easter basket Grandma hid for her...she looked upatairs and downstairs and finally found it behind a chair...it wasn't an Easter basket, but more like an Easter cart...Grandma always goes BIG! A Barbie, a watch, chocolate bunny, gardening tools, stuffed animals, jump rope...seriously way more stuff than I could ever mention. Ate an incredble Easter dinner with the family (Jamie stopped by to eat while on duty) and Alana said grace before eating. Here is exactly what she said, "God, please take care of everyone in the world, Amen." Not bad for a five year old. I couldn't have said it better myself. After dinner we went outside for a little bit to jump rope with Alana and Grandma...I surprised myself that I could still do it...even backwards:) hehehe. Alana also did some raking in the flower beds before starting the trek home to Illinois...the only thing that could have made it better was having Jamie there for the fun...and it really was amazing. Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter celebration with their families.

New Car

Woke up early today and off to the dealership I went...Bye bye 2002 Ford Explorer XLT and hello 2009 Mercury Milan V6 Premier...I saw, I drove, I had to have it! Happy Easter to me...this car is me...all me...I don't even miss the extra room that the Explorer had...not yet anyway...I haven't driven a sporty car in 4 years and this little sucker has some power...it also has all the little extras that I just couldn't live without (yeah right)...like the heated leather seats and ambient lighting...Happy Easter to me.

Back at Work

Third day back to work after my vacation to Texas and my viral infection from hell and it is busy. I really don't have time to whine about how "ICKY" I feel...still sick, not 100% yet but working my way toward wellness again. I just wish there would come a morning where my eyes just open and I don't have to wash them with warm water to get the "goop" out. I am disinfecting everything at home and at work that I touch because I don't won't to give this to anyone else. Everyday gets a little better, but I just want to be able to wear eye make-up again...everyone keeps telling me I look tired! Of course I look tired...I have no "eyes on"...my eyes are naked all the time. Jamie has spent the last two days working double shifts...so that means I haven't seen his face for two days...he leaves at 530am when I'm still asleep and comes home at midnight when I'm already asleep...he should be home tomorrow night after working 7-4...then off on Friday...can't wait because I am only working a half day and we will be able to spend Good Friday together.

Sickness After Texas

Ever since landing in Milwaukee at midnight on April 1st...I have been so sick! Went to the doctor Wednesday morning to have him give me some other drops that might work better for my pink eye...he did and said if things didn't improve by Thursday AM to call him...well no improvement as of Thurs AM so I saw an eye specialist on Thursday night...he said it has to run it's course...Virus that started as Upper Respiratory and moved into my eyes...fun! No work Friday 'cause I can't see...as of right now I feel the best I've felt since Monday when this mess started...I WILL GO TO WORK TOMORROW! It is not an option...I just want to be completely better...this has gone on too long.

Visit to Texas to see The Huvals

March 26th arrived in San Antonio, Texas to visit The Huvals. Was picked up by Jason, Jack and Mark (Holly had class). Listened to Jack talk to me all the way home...he has grown up so much. First time meeting Mark in person...it has been two years since Holly, Jason and Jack came to visit me in Wisconsin...Holly was pregnant with Mark at the time. Spent a quiet night at the house with the boys...Holly got home around 830 or 9pm...stayed up way too late.

March 27th Holly and I spent the day with the kids shopping and running around from store to store looking for job fair outfits. I ended up buying a pair of jeans and a shirt...oh where am I going to find space to pack those. Once Jason was home from work, Holly and I had a girls night out...just like old times in California we went to spend all our money at Dave & Busters. First a great dinner and then off to the games with our "Super Charged" game cards. Tickets, tickets and more tickets flowed from the machines...it was great. Texas D&B is a little different than Cali D&B, but not much has changed. We spent money, we got tickets and we turned in our tickets for stuff...D&B stuff...had a blast. Again, got home and stayed up way too late.

March 28th we all went to Sea World San Antonio...it was Jack and Mark's first time there. They did great...it was an all day project and WOW they are little troopers without naps...no major incidents at all...just happy to be there kind of kids! Holly and I did the "old time" stuff of riding the roller coasters. FUN, FUN, FUN! Jack went on a couple of rides (one with mom and dad) and one with me. Mark had a monkey on his back the whole day...it was a lifesaver! Everyone should put there child on a leash at Sea World...we would have been so stressed without that monkey and Mark would have lost his mind because he would have been in the stroller most of the time. the day was long, but the kids were great. We all had such fun. I was glad to be a part of their first Sea World trip.
March 29th was a day of relaxation. Holly, me and the boys spent the day hanging out at the house. We played in the backyard and Holly an I had a chance to get caught up on the girl talk. It was nice to sit out in the sun and watch the boys play with my incredible friend...she really does it all...Mom, work, school, friend, etc. It was also nice to just relax and be warm...heard that there is 8 inches of snow falling in Wisconsin...YUCK!

March 30th was my last night in Texas. It has been so fun and relaxing here. Holly, me and the boys went on a last ditch effort to find Holly some shoes for her new outfit at the mall, but if you ask Jack why we went to the mall he'll tell you it was to ride the escalator. We took some trial photos with the Easter Bunny...not really wanting to spend twenty bucks on pictures of Mark screaming his head off looking like he is being tramatized. Jack rode the merry-go-round and we did find some shoes during our trip...for Jason, not Holly! We went to the grocery store and then home...spent some quality time with boys and watched them play in the water in the backyard. Jack took lots of pictures with his camera that I bought for him for Christmas (he's really good). Then bath and bed...early night for all of us since Holly has to work a 1/2 day tomorrow morning.

March 31st I woke up with pink-eye...oh goodie! Called my doctor, he called in a prescription to Walmart in Texas...I started drops immediately and hoped I would be okay for the flight home. The entire family took me to the airport for my flight at 6pm...my poor eye was getting worse and worse as the night went on. Pain, swelling, goop, just a mess. My flight arrived in Milwaukee at midnight and Jamie picked me up.
